From all at Winwick Athletic FC.
Patric Wilson Club Player of the Year 2009b

Sadly today we lost Patric Wilson, a lovely lad who cared about everyone, especially his family and fellow team-mates. It has been a thorough pleasure knowing Patric through all of his time playing football at Winwick Athletic. I feel privileged to have been one of the coaches who looked after him in one of our U9 teams. All of us know first-hand how determined he was to play and to improve in his game, plus to enjoy playing sport with his team-mates. His determination has certainly been evident for all to see over the last 15 months as he fought hard to battle against this horrid disease. Heaven gains an angel, we lose a truly nice person and words cannot describe the loss the Club feels. Back in 2009 as an U9 player he won our Club Player of the Year Award. During the last 15 months Patric returned to play a few matches for his U16s team; he was determined to do so for his mates despite all he was going through personally. Once again as an U16 player he became Club Player of the Year 2015. This demonstrates what an exceptional young man he was, he brought joy to many and will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Julie, Simon, Rhyan and his family. Rest in Peace Patric xx

A very Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year for all of our Players, Parents, Families and Friends

U11 Bears (Team Ciaran) Win Presidents Cup Final

U11 Bears Cup Winners

Ciaran Geddes was certainly there helping his team-mates win the Presidents Cup today against Premiership side Cherrybrook. A superb trio of first half goals and solid defending in the second half put this cup final well and truly to bed. The Division 1 side Winwick Athletic Bears throughly deserved their victory today playing some really exciting football. Cherrybrook came back into the game second half with a determined spell immediately after the restart after halftime, but Winwick weathered that intensive 15-minute storm to retain their well deserved clean sheet and Cup Victory.  Niall Ross, Lee Blood and Mark Field can stand tall and proud of the way their players achieved their success today, well done to all connected with this team.
