A thrilling 4-3 home win on Sat 28th March against a competing Showbar AFC side fighting for a similar finishing position, secures a top three spot for our Open-Age Team. Well done to Ian, Paul, Danny and all of the lads for a great season so far. Enjoy your final four games of the season. Been quite a good year for only your 2nd season in the Warrington & District Football League, having knocked Avon out of the Guardian Cup and reaching the Quarter Final of that prestigious Competition and going out at that stage to a very strong Mid-Cheshire Daten FC side (after extra-time and with only 10-men for almost 75 mins of the match). Roy of the Rovers stuff and all that. A similar well done to Brian and his Winwick FC team who have reached the final of their Divisional Cup as well.

Davey’s Acts of Random Kindness (D.A.R.K.)
Fantastic to see today that a Winwick U9s Team benefitted from the kindness of a memorial organisation set up in honour of Davey Fallon, who himself spent time playing for a Winwick Athletic FC Junior Football Team. Here is a photo of him as an U16 Player (front row 3rd from the left) and below are U9s Players who were thrilled today with their sweets from him.
In memory of Davey the organisation D.A.R.K. was set up and memorial matches between the two Clubs he played for, Newton-le-Willows and Winwick Athletic FC are expected soon. For those interested please visit D.A.R.K. http://www.daveys-ark.org.uk/
Earlier this season the Club also gratefully received a Donation of £100 from D.A.R.K. which has been put to great use for equipment used by the young 4 and 5yr old academy children in our club.
Snow Wins !! All HOME Winwick Venues CLOSED down for this weekend
Sadly ALL Home Matches are POSTPONED on Sat 31st Jan and also on Sun 1st Feb 2015. Snow plus then melt-water causing total saturation of pitches, hence unplayable. Better luck next weekend I guess …. the weather has issued its own Red Card to football I suppose. Enjoy some indoor or televised football instead, or take on your Mum or your Dad at FIFA ?? Or how about posting football related stories on our Facebook page ?

Brook Acre AND Mill House CLOSED Sat 22nd Nov 2014 .. BUT Myddleton Lane is OPEN
Wet weather beginning to take its mark on venues today I am afraid. Mill House and Brook Acre School are both waterlogged and Pitches there unplayable.
UA Warrington is likely to be OPEN and subject to Referee discretion on their state of play. The Caretaker arrives at 9am so it will not be possible to inspect pitches there until quite late to confirm, apologies for that inconvenience if its any of your teams affected, but fairly sure all will be ok based on our regular inspections of all club venues.
